Hotel parking vs airport parking: Which is right for you?

Spread the love

Let’s be honest, no matter the number of times we’ve traveled, we still mull over the different parking options like it’s the first time. When we’re spoiled for choice, deciding on the one that is right for us is surprisingly similar to Prince Charming finding his princess with a glass slipper!

Save up to 60% on your airport parking rates

Here’s a breakdown to help you decide which works for you and when: hotel parking or airport parking.

Hotel parking

An early morning or late-night flight where rest is non-negotiable? Then, hotel parking takes the win for convenience. You can book a room, and they will bundle in free parking for a limited number of days. These are called “Park, Stay, and Fly” packages. This is great if you’re traveling for a short period of time. They also offer a much lower price than onsite airport parking.

If you want just the parking space, that is also possible. Make sure to book through dedicated online parking platforms to get better parking rates. You might be able to get exclusive benefits and discounts, too. Some hotel parking lots provide free shuttle service as well, so keep an eye out when reserving your space.

Onsite airport parking

Parking close to the terminal is honestly the dream. Most onsite parking across major US airports also has covered options and surveillance, making it the perfect trio. Unfortunately, such luxury comes with an expensive price tag.

It is perfect if you value comfort, are only away for a day or two, and don’t mind the price. Since onsite airport parking offers proximity to the terminal, the spaces are scarce. Most major US airports encourage booking in advance; if they don’t offer that option, make sure to get there early.

Offsite airport parking

Striking the golden balance between cost and convenience, there is a reason why seasoned travelers prefer offsite parking. It is significantly cheaper, and most offer complimentary shuttle service to the terminal. All you have to do is go online, select the dates, compare prices, book the one that you prefer, and you’re done!

With platforms like Global Airport Parking, you get offsite parking at reasonable rates, sometimes even with added benefits.

So, which one is right for you?

  • Hotel park-and-fly makes sense if you live far from the airport and want a relaxed start to your trip the night before.
  • Onsite parking works well for short trips where convenience is king and price isn’t a concern.
  • Offsite parking is the sweet spot for most travelers: better value, more convenience, and none of the unnecessary extras you’d pay elsewhere.
